'We are closer to Hollywood' – such statements aren't something new as we would have heard our filmmakers and producers uttering it over and again. But on pars, there are few auteurs exerting their earnest efforts of pulling such statements into reality.
Some of the upcoming Tamil releases will follow the 'Hollywood pattern'. The major factor is that there will be no songs and unwanted parallel tracks of romance and comedy.
Gowtham Menon claims that he has pioneered with this mission as his upcoming film 'Nadunisi Naigal' doesn't boast any songs or background score either. The filmmaker has signed a top-charting sound designer from Bollywood to work on sound effects. In fact, A.R. Rahman himself has appreciated his efforts.
Next to join this bandwagon will be 'Payanam'. This bilingual movie made by Radha Mohan has Nagarjuna playing the lead role. The film is about flight hijack and a commando striving to save them. The film has a running length of just 100mins.
But the trend was already set by some of the best actors like Kamal Haasan as his yesteryear film 'Kuruthi Punal' was a stunning action thriller with no songs.

VA quarter cutting is on Deepavali
The next film produced by Y NOT studio's is VA quarter cutting. The starrers Siva, S.P.B.Charan and Lekha Washington in lead roles. This film is written and directed by Pushkar – Gayatri. This is going to be a fultime comedy film, the story is based on the events happening between evening 6:30 and morning 6:30, so the film shoot had to be done in night or early morning. Nirav Shah is doing the Cinemotography.
Audio have been launched and the music is doneby G.V.Prakash Kumar. Recently it was observed that the post production of the film has come to an end and it is expected to be released for diwali.

Actor Karthi Dual Role
The most happening hero Karthi is playing a lead role in 'Siruthai' a remake of Telugu hit Vikramarkudu. And Karthi would be seen playing a dual role in Siruthai for the first time. The film has Karthi enacting dual roles as a tough IPS officer and other one as a petty thief , the total contrast.
The posters released by the makers recently had a very different looking Karthi, sporting a Cop get-up.
Karthi on confirming this said, "Yes. I play dual role in this film. Both characters are strikingly different from each other and give me ample scope for performance. As an actor, I am really happy to take up the challenge in Siruthai".
Karthi will be romancing Tamannah in the movie after their successful combination in Paiyaa. Santhanam will be donning the comedy track in Siruthai after his much-appreciated performance in Boss Engira Baskaran.
Cinematographer-turned-director Shiva is directing this film while K E Gnanavel Raja of Studio Green is producing the film.

'Mankatha' is going to start its shooting
Putting all the speculations aside,it was finally announced that Ajith's long waited much excited 50th project 'Mankatha' is going to start its shooting from October 20th in Hyderabad. It is directed by Venkat Prabhu and produced by Dhayanidhi Alagiri.
Close sources say that director Venkat Prabhu is giving final touches to the story line and it is heard that Ajith gave a warm hug to the director after hearing to the final script made by the the director.
Venkat says "It was really heartwarming. Ajith sir liked the script very much."
On speaking about the reports that came as Ajith will be seen in a new look in this film, Venkat says, "Yes, Ajith is working on it. And he would reveal it on October 20, the starting day of the shoot."

The Malayalam hit film Body Guard is being remade in Tamil with the title Kaavalan. Dhilip and Nayanthara did the lead role in this film. Siddique directed this film. In Kaavalan Vijay and Asin are doing the lead roles. Siddique who directed the Malayalam film Body Guard is directing this film also. Vijay, Asin and director Siddique spoke to the media recently.
Vijay while speaking about this film said , "Siddique told me this story two years back itself. This story is different from other films. This is a romantic film. There will also fiery fighting scenes and also rib tickling comedy. There was a big problem tot title this film. We planned to title this film as Kavalkaran. Due to some reason it was not possible to do so.
Then we tried Kaaval Kadhal and finally it was titled Kavalan. I had earlier acted in Siddique's Friends. I can never forget the comedy scenes in that film. Particularly in the scene where the hammer falls on the head of Vadivelu. I will laugh even now if I happen to see that comedy. I am happy that Asin is acting with me in this film. We both of us paired in Sivakasi and Pokkiri. This is third film with our combo. This film will also be success like the other two films. In between Asin had gone for the shooting of Hindi film. Since I did not want to waste 2 months, I acted in Velayudham."
Arjun donning multiple characters
Action King Arjun is trying his skills in donning multiple characters in a single film. Inspired by Kamal Haasan in 'Dasavatharam', Arjun is playing five characters in his upcoming movie 'Vallakottai'.
A dark labourer, Anjeneya and a Red India are important three. Director Venkatesh says Arjun has handled the different get ups very professionally and assures the audience will like them.
'Vallakottai 'was to have been completed days ago but was delayed because of the death of Murali. Venkatesh said that they were ready to can the final fight sequence at the Binny Mills when they heard the bad news about Murali. They stopped the shooting as soon as they heard the news and resumed it just a couple of days ago. With that the entire shooting for 'Vallakottai' is complete.
Director Venkatesh further said the movie will hit the theatres in October and he has committed to do another film with Action King Arjun as his next. Action-Action matches again.

Anakha has created sensation in her first film itself. She donned a controversial role of a daughter-in-law who tries to seduce her father –in-law in the film Sindhu Samaveli. She has made all the eyes look towards her by doing this role.
While speaking to the media, she said," Basically I am a bold person. My mother and brother had given me this encouragement. I use to take a lot of risks in my young age. This role is one of such risks. Many have asked me that apart from the role being bold was it not a wrong one. Just think. Had I not done this role, some other actress would have done this role and got the applause I have got. As an actress this role gives me self satisfaction.
Once decided to act, it is good for an actress to show their talents in the roles they get. My mother after seeing this film appreciated me. Not only my mother, but my friends and classmates appreciated me. They said one said should have guts to do such kind of roles.

Even though it’s a fact that Indian movies find a lot of takers in the modern world, there are still aspects that need a lot of improvement if they have to strike a cord with the global audience. Some films with universal character are being made these days and actually doing very well. Still there is some thing that actually goes a long way in how an Indian movie is actually made. Even though it is very biased in favor of actors and it’s a virtual world where we can come across a mortal factious hero dodging the fire of AK-47 and the likes. Nonetheless there are some things that actually still make the industry and its movies what they are.
If one has to come across an Indian movie by chance then in most cases one should leave the grey matter of it at home in order to enjoy it fully. If logic and sanity is used to explain as to how the protagonist is able to thwart all dangers and recuperate under insurmountable odds to come out as a victor is something that is a mystery to the makers as well. It would hence hold in good stead that no neuron is twitched while actually going for an Indian movie.
There are many good effects of these actually. One of the main effects being that one gets to see a colorful movie with a lot of melodrama and stuff like that. Another aspect is that a new onlooker can actually find the themes of the scripts quite hilarious to state the least. Yet if one looks on as to why movies are made in such a manner. I guess it has to be with the way the audience is eventually. The gist of all this is that logic and Indian movies don’t go together in most cases.
Music is another X factor in Indian movies. Total effect surrounding the movie is due to such a heavy load is totally mind gobbling. No other film industry across the globe uses music in such a prolific manner in the movie itself. This actually tends to give Indian Movies a distinctive feel altogether. The trend is quite catchy with the audience at large and it’s quite unlikely that Indian flicks may mitigate its presence any time soon.
The range of topics and their eventual impact on the audience is again one of the most unique of features that the Indian Film industry has. It’s said that cinema is actually a mirror of any society and that holds true in letter and spirit to the Indian Film Industry. With such a versatile domain of society and people of different casts and creed, the stories and lives of people depicted in the movies are just a reflection of the same. Many regional films are released that go un noticed to the modern audience but strike a chord with the viewer that happens to chance through them.
